2020 In Gaming: We Asked The Gamers About Their Thoughts

There is no doubt that 2020 has been an exceptional year so far, and to save you the time about how COVID-19 affected almost everything worldwide, let’s just cut to the chase.

Opinions asked the gamers about their thoughts on 2020 in gaming, which involves the video games, the leaks, next-gen consoles, and everything in between.

We gathered some of the gamers’ thoughts on 2020 in gaming, and we would certainly love to know yours, so feel free to drop a comment below!

Disclaimer: we realize there are still two months left before 2021, but the majority of titles for the current-gen were already released, and the thoughts are based on that fact.

About The Video Games Released In 2020

There have been quite a handful of releases in the past 10 months, from blockbusters to some all-new indie releases.

Despite the new circumstances developers had to go under, most of the gamers believe that the video games released in 2020 are definitely not bad, but not that good either.

Not the best but better than okay. Been a lot of great games released, VR is getting better and more immersive.

Bryan Newell

It’s been a pretty solid year considering everything going on. The switch was the only system that kind of sucked but Hyrule Warriors is coming out in a couple of weeks, should be dope.

It’s notable to mention that some of the 2020 releases were already in development years before, yet the community was not so satisfied with the results, just ask Marvel’s Avengers players;

I had so much hope for the Avengers game but it got so boring really quick.

Peter Bennett

I don’t know why boys expected The Avengers to be great. That shit had cash grab written all over it.

The Delays Got Out of Control…

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most anticipated games for quite some time (almost 10 years), and until recently, the game was supposed to be released on November 19th, now moved to December 10th.

Gamers’ disappointment levels have started to rise month after month. Considering many of them were counting on this game to refresh their libraries, and to give them some really long hours of gameplay.

It’s too late for Cyberpunk in terms of the Game Awards. But yeah, that game better be fucking perfect!

Patrick A. Sands

Yea I would say okay is a little generous, delayed Cyberpunk 2077, Far Cry 6, Halo.

Brenden Perez-Fisher

The second most notable delay is Halo: Infinite. 343 Industries decided to delay the release until 2021, due to technical issues, leaving the Xbox Series X without its biggest launch title.

The Last PlayStation Exclusives

PlayStation 4 (presumably) had Ghost of Tsushima is its last exclusive.

The Samurai-action-adventure open-world game from Sucker Punch delivered a good story with beautiful graphics and some interesting gameplay mechanics.

Ghost was amazing, side quests can get repetitive but loved it overall.

Natarius Madden

Despite its controversial release, The Last of Us Part II managed to become a huge financial success, and gamers still have their own opinions about it.

Yup! Last of Us 2 is definitely a game of the year! pretty much all I’ve been playing many times over!

Nicholas Youell

Naughty Dog really ruined this year of gaming with TLOU2. The rumors about how they paid Metacritic and google to remove the bad reviews really made me rethink how corrupt the gaming industry is.
